the real hairdresses of...

Photobucket

Okay, so when I said in a previous post I was hopefully getting my hair done... I didn't. I missed out on an appointment only to get one today!! I'm nervous. I want Kate Bosworth, lucious blonde cropped locks.. but knowing my hair, it'll just turn into a thick frizz ball.

I've never been a converse/chucks wearing sort of girl, but it really makes me jealous seeing the ones who can really pull it off.  I think it's something about the height to width ratio of my legs that just aren't visually appealing in chucks! HA. Thought I'd imagine myself in these Burberry ones though.

Oh and of course, I added my i phone and speakers to endure the 3 point something hours I will be sitting in a chair getting a numb butt. David Bowie will get me through.

KB fashion week

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

It's all coming off.

I'm Hopefulllllllllllllly getting my hair cut and coloured today. I say hopefully because the salon is having a crazy cheap offer and bookings are on a first 'call' first served basis. I feel sorry for those girls.. I've been in retail and cringe at the memories of people going nuts over a good sale. BLAH! That being said... I've already dialled the number into my phone and am ready to press 'call' at exactly opening hour. mwahahaha.

Thinking a Victoria Beckham-esque style ensemble would suit todays occassion. It is so cold in Melbourne at the moment, but any excuse to wear these booties is fine with me!

I'm picturing myself walking down a sunny Chapel Street or Maling Road, doing some summer shopping in this outfit.

:(
i really really want it.

After cutting all the fabric into little strips, I quickly realised that
THIS Shakuhachi woven skirt was not going to happen.. So with what little fabric I had intact, I decided on an 'Elin Kling-slash-4th and Bleeker-slash-everyone else in the world right now' style skirt.

this is not me

party

I'm going out tonight for a girly, dancey, eaty thing....y. I'm actually going to a club. I pretty much said goodbye to clubs on my 20th birthday... but after the fun I had last night I have to do it again but at an even more pretentious place. I would never dress like this... But I actually wish I could.

P.S Tonight, I think I like my actual outfit better than this one I've made up using expensive things from net-a-porter! :O

Have a FUN Saturday night

i am obsessed with black swan

Oh my god. Have you seen it??  It. is. Incredible. (And that's an embarrassing understatement.)

Without getting into the debate/controversy of who designed what out of the (credited) costume designer Amy Westcott and sister duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy from Rodarte, the costuming was un-fucking-believeable.

If you've seen it you'll know what I mean when I'm talking about that beyond beautiful, white dress. And the sisters (or was it Westcott's) take on the classical tutu skirt. Holy Shit. It all just added more perfection to an already perfect screen play. Yes, this movie is worth 110%.

I LOVED IT!
Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis are sensational.. and is it just me, because I think the ballet director, played by Vincent Cassel is pretty sexy?!

(Maybe don't watch this if you havent seen the movie - Black Swans visual effects)

spirit hoods

Photobucket

Had a perfect day in the city today drinking wine, eating a ploughmans lunch and shopping.

I also discovered the story of spirit hoods. I really want one of these three... or all of them.

Currently making this today with army green stretch fabric because THIS was way too complicated for my sewing machine.. (and my brain).

le sad truth

"I don’t get the need for this immediacy. In fact, I think it’s bad.
The way the system works now, you see the clothes, within an hour or so they’re online, the world sees them. They don’t get to a store for six months. The next week, young celebrity girls are wearing them on red carpets. They’re in every magazine. The customer is bored with those clothes by the time they get to the store. They’re overexposed, you’re tired of them, they’ve lost their freshness… In addition, all of the fast-fashion companies that do a great job, by the way, knock everything off. So it’s everywhere all over the streets in three months and by the time you get it to the store, what’s the point?
I’m holding everything back… The clothes are not going out to magazines before January issues. The clothes are not going to celebrities before December. The images are not being released online until December, when they’ll go online on my Web site."

Tom Ford on the internet and fashion.

I found this on Elin Kling's blog. It's so true, and i think it's a big negative about the internet and the way fashion is heading. We see so much now through blogs, fashion websites and glossy magazines, that we're looking for the next big thing before we've truly appreciated what's current.

net-a-porter

Having a full morning of solid opshopping tomorrow! Praying to the second hand gods that I can find something perfect for the weekend.

This Ashish top looks like sparkly perfection and I see everyone with leopard print ballet flats lately but can't seem to find a decent pair myself! Maybe savers can help me out??

sitting idly at the crossroad

Photobucket

unknown source

See this girls hair on the left?  It's the perfect cut. Cropped bluntly, in a sort of long bob, with a little bit of colour in the ends. I love it. And I desperately want it. The problem IS, that I currently have the girls hair sitting on the right. Freakishly long and wavy.

So what does one do?? Take a gamble and try and attain perfection in another form? OR be happy with what one has and capitalise on this long hair obsession?

tricky tricky. I'm so undecided.

it it it it's Friday.

Out with my bestie tonight for a birthday celebration. I've found myself in a really nasty habit of wearing way too much black and just 'drab' coloured clothes of late.  So I'm on the hunt for some light, happy pieces to take over my wardrobe....

They say it takes 21 days to break a habit... or in this case, a few thousand dollars???

the way we eat

Photobucket

Went out with friends for a dinner tonight with some beers included.  Sadly, my last minute, rushed outfit looked no where near as glamorous as this.

I love these warmer nights where a jacket is just used as an accessorie to swing over your arm.
